EVOLVING PATHS
Insatiably curious with diverse interests, Haroon found inspiration in storytelling and communications from an early age. Starting his career as a banker, he soon gravitated to media production and copywriting. Currently based in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Pakistan, Haroon Riaz has written and directed several short documentary films, commercial and corporate films, and has debuted with his feature documentary Natari (2021) with co-director Jawad Sharif. His notable contributions include The Frozen Giants of Karakoram (2020) for the Nature Series of the Dawood Foundation, and the multi-award-winning Indus Blues (2018) as a screenwriter, additional editor, and associate producer. Haroon's prime areas of interest are climate change, anthropology, archaeology, political activism, and secular and liberal education in Pakistan. Flourishing in creative documentary and commercial filmmaking alike, Haroon is always looking for a new idea to get inspired by.
